Saturday, May 16th started out with a windy drive to Tularosa, NM. After blowing our way in the pits, the wind calmed down to a mild 20mph and a little less sand blowing around. This was the first race where both car owner, Paul Whitehead and his driver Steve Nix took the track together. Both finished 4th in their heat races leading them to main event. In the event 18 cars took to the field and the race went from start to finish without a single caution. At times they were 3 and 4 wide in the turns. Steve Nix #2 finished 8th and Paul Whitehead #21p finished 12th. The NMMRA guys put on a great show and the people at White Sands Speedway were great. White Sands Speedway is a fun track and we will definetly be back. Team Performance Plus will be traveling next weekend to Thunder Raceway in Show Low, AZ.
