What an exciting night of racing at Aztec Speedway in Aztec, NM where the NMMRA presented a field of 23 sprint cars from Albuquerque, Sante Fe, Arizona. Paul Whitehead #21p started off Performance Plus Racing in the first heat. Whitehead finished 7th in his heat and came in to the pits with the adjustments that he needed for the main in mind. Steve Nix#2 took to the track for heat 3 after repairing the power steering line that busted during hot laps and breaking a front axel on the first lap in his heat race, still finishing 4th in his heat. After the heat race both crews got busy getting both cars ready for the main event. Paul Whitehead, #21p started 20th working his way through the pack getting as close as 8th place with a 12th place finish. Steve Nix, #2 started up front outside and was in a battle the entire race for one of the top three positions. As the checkered flag dropped it was a nice 3rd place finish for Nix. Congratulations Steve! Performance Plus Team Racing next scheduled race in Saturday, July 4th in Tularosa at White Sands Speedway.
